Chances are in your search for a web hosting company you haven’t come across a page like this. That’s because of the way affiliate programs are run. The short of it is that “review” websites get paid lots of money from web hosts to send them customers, so there is no reason to write bad reviews about web hosts. That wouldn’t make them any money. The long of it is discussed in my How Affiliate Programs Work article.

The hosts below are my choice for the worst hosts in the industry. A combination of poor service, bad business practices, and terrible support all contribute to them being listed here.

NOTE: I did not work for any of the web hosting companies listed on this page. I don’t want anybody to think that I have a personal vendetta against these hosts. I simply don’t like their service and/or the way they do business.

**These are promotional prices that are offered only to get you in the door. The price of your renewal will be much higher. Read each individual review for more info on the renewal prices.

Keep in mind that these are not the only hosts that increase renewal prices. All of the EIG brands will raise your renewal prices to cover the cost of the affiliate commissions they pay out. While this may not be the most fair way to treat long term customers, some web hosting companies are more up front about it than others. The web hosts on this page try to hide it at the time of sign up, hoping that customers renew without noticing the increased price.
